Bell ringer 2-28

does this violate our freedom of speech?

should we allow our schools to have this much power over dress?
If it comes to the point that students aren't allowed to wear an AMERICAN Flag shirt then something is seriously wrong with patriotism characteristics of the country! Time for a civil war/revolution?
Does the attempt to prevent violence change your stance? nope.

State Data Sheet

Every new Senator makes an introductory speech to the Senate.  In order to speak effectively and identify the state-focused issue on which you will concentrate, you will need to collect some data about your state.  The more you know, the more effective you should be in addressing the real needs of your state.  The information you gather should also help you to create your campaign poster and organize your introductory speech to the Senate.

Consider the following list of items to be “basic.”  The list is NOT intended to be all-inclusive.  Any other pertinent information you find should be included at the end of the list.  Note that “RANK” (see below) means national rank, i.e., out of the 50 states.  Use almanacs, encyclopedias (NOT Wikipedia), the Internet, etc. to find this information.  See the back for suggested sources.

Give three facts and the state name you are representing in our mock congress. Most gun related crimes could have been avoided if a citizen had been armed, Arms restrictions are violation to our second amendment rights, Firearms are not a public hazard. I represent Connecticut.

If you could make a law about anything what would you write a law about? I would bring back hanging in the city streets. It would set a public example and people would learn their are serious consequences for unlawful acts. When somebody goes to jail for life, the event is over and everybody forgets what took place. Put a hanging on national television, set the example and set people straight.

does the government have a right to restrict what people on food stamps are buying? why or why not? If they don't, they should. People on food stamps obviously can't support themselves, they should be forced to the government aid on essentials only. Not non-essentials. That is a form of abusing the system.

does this story show a breach in first amendment rights? As long as the review posted on "Yelp" is not slanderous it should be protected under the First Amendment

what can your congressmen do about this? He can review the law suit and establish whether it is in violation to the Bill of Rights.
